Awesome Zombie Board Games

For all you old-schoolers out there, here are three awesome zombie board games that deliver.

Zombies!!! 2nd Edition

  • Rating: 4.3 (out of 5)
  • Players: 2 to 6
  • Gameplay: 120 minutes

You are trapped in a town overrun by hungry zombies. You need to collect supplies in abandoned buildings in your mad dash to the heliport and out of this hellhole. We love the ‘build your own map’ feature of this game– you will never play the same game twice! It’s kill or be killed with your luck hinging on the roll of the dice. It’s every man for himself with plenty of ill-omened cards to thwart your escape.

Last Night On Earth – The Zombie Game

  • Rating: 4.7 (out of 5)
  • Players: 2 to 6
  • Gameplay:  60-90 minutes

As far as graphics go, this zombie board game wins hands down. It’s Zombies vs Heroes with each team appropriately subject to different challenges and strategies. A modular game board combined with various ‘scenarios’ keep each game fresh.

The Walking Dead Risk: Survival Edition

  • Rating: 4.8 (out of 5)
  • Players: 2 − 5
  • Gameplay: 14 and up

We could barely contain ourselves when this hit the market in 2013. This is not your mamma’s Risk. Combining one of of our favorite strategy games of all time with the AMC television series that has given us countless new reasons to fear the Zombie Apocalypse, this is most definitely an awesome zombie board game.

This board game amends the classic game rules in ways that truly capture the unpredictability and chaos of living amidst The Walking Dead. For instance,  if any survivor dies, there is a 50% chance of that survivor being infected and retaking the region as a ‘walker.’ Unlike the classic, survivor groups each get a special ability adding to the overall game strategy.

Check out 5-star reviews of this truly awesome zombie board game:

Even if you have played all the different versions of risk many times over, this alteration to the classic is not just a cheap gimmick to cash in on the walking dead craze […]The game is great, really different from regular risk with interesting new rules and lots of room for replayability, buy it! — George

It is a great game and also a great friendship killer. The survival mode is pretty interesting and the conquer mode is really hard, there is no shelter for the rain.–Aldo G.

Like the classic risk but the random zombie outbreaks make it very interessing. You have to adapt your strategy every turn. :)– todo
